Dr. Suphamit Chittayasothorn is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand. He received his B.Eng. in computer engineering from KMITL, M.Eng. in computer technology from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Brisbane, Australia under the supervision of Professors G. M. Njissen and Maria Orlowska. Dr. Chittayasothorn served as an Associate Dean for Information Technology of the Faculty of Engineering, KMITL (1990 -1997), Director of the Computer Research and Service Center, KMITL (1998 – 2004). He has given professional training in Database Design and SQL for Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency since 1992 and currently serves as the Interim Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of KMITL. Dr. Chittayasothorn has chaired or co-chaired a number of international conferences and is serving as a reviewer of international and national academic conferences and journals. His research interest is database systems. He mostly published in the areas of conceptual schema and temporal databases.
